A 19th century stonebuilt village house, we are located in the small but renowned winemaking village of Berlou. Nestled in the southern foothills of the Haut Languedoc National Park in Herault and 20 miles from the Mediterranean, there is something here for everyone.









For complete relaxation, potter around the village, try the local wines or simply read a book on the terrace. Alternatively wander beyond the village to find perfect walking and cycling country, rivers with their own secluded beaches for swimming, gorges and Medieval villages dramatically suspended on the mountainsides of the Orb Valley.









For something different, enrol on one of our cookery courses or try any of the local sports, from canoeing to mountain climbing, sailing or diving. Nearby you will also find the Canal du Midi, and the ancient towns of Agde, Beziers, Narbonne, Carcassonne as well as the cosmopolitan capital of the region, Montpellier.









We have taken great care to ensure that La Vieille Forge has retained it’s original character and charm along with mediterranean influences during renovation. There are four unique guest bedrooms, each with its own modern bathroom, an intimate dining room and communal lounge with big comfy sofas and an open fire.
