Named after the ebony art deco panelling of this imposing property’s drawing room, Le Macassar combines the comfort, relaxation and informality of a private home, with the service and attention to detail of a luxury hotel.


Le Macassar sits on the main square of the small town of Corbie in the Somme valley, Picardie, Northern France. Synonymous with the battles of WW1, today visitors view the nearby war memorials and enjoy the area’s outdoor pursuits as well impressive gothic architecture. Amiens cathedral is the largest gothic cathedral in the world and a world heritage site.


The comfortable and stylish property boasts original art deco and art nouveau interiors, furniture and art. Guests are encouraged to enjoy all of the public rooms as well as the sunny, formal courtyard garden.


There are five "lounge" areas; the Majorelle library (attributed to the famous cabinet maker); the Moroccan salon resplendent in elaborate tile-work; the ‘Gallery’ with macassar panelling and grand piano; the dining room where breakfast is served (at a time to suit you, not us!); and the art deco billiard room.
