We have named Lovett House Bed & Breakfast in honor of the original couple, Sam & Kate Lovett, who built the Pioneer log style home in 1891. We were honored when their granddaughter, Mrs. Doris Stewart, who still lives in Cedaredge at the age of 94, gave us her blessing to use the family name.



The Lovett House first opened its doors to the public in 1894 as Cedaredge’s first post office, with Mrs. Lovett as its postmistress. The home also served many travelers as a “way station” in between Delta and the Grand Mesa. So as you can see, the home has been welcoming guests for over 112 years, and we hope to preserve the tradition by having our doors open to guests traveling to, or through, the wonderful town of Cedaredge, Colorado.
