Lilac House Bed And Breakfast, Mackinac Island, Michigan
STEP back in time and spend a leisurely vacation in historic accommodations, just a half block from Mackinac's boat docks, on the corner of Market and Astor.
SET in the heart of downtown, The Lilac House occupies arguably the best location of any Hotel or Bed and Breakfast on the Island. You can enjoy a quiet sit on the large wrap-around porch while reading or visiting or watch the horses, bikes and people pass by. Feeling adventurous? You can walk anywhere in the downtown area within five or ten minutes; and if you’re really feeling it, you can take a bike or horse to practically anywhere on the island in a half hour or so.
BUILT in 1890 by the Early's, one of Mackinac's original founding families. In 1961, Mary Gillespie Thompson returned to her island home and purchased the house where she raised her family. Her kids grown, she converted it into the Lilac House in 1991. Today, Mary's son Ken, and his wife LoriAnn, continue the Lilac House B&B tradition.
