The new Inn at Playa del Rey, recently honored by
Country Inns Magazine as "An Oasis in Los Angeles" is located close to the beach and overlooks both the main channel of Marina del Rey and a two hundred acre bird sanctuary. All 21 rooms are just as refreshing as the views. Some have white-washed hand painted beds, others have antique pine sleigh beds piled high with down comforters and quilts. Rooms facing the open wetlands have fireplaces, sun-warmed decks, blue Marina sailboat views, and Jacuzzi tubs. Two "Romance Suites" feature a fireplace in the bathroom next to a bubbling oversized Jacuzzi tub for two.

Guests awaken to the aromas of rich strong coffee and award-winning egg souffles. The Apple French Toast was recognized as warm comfort food by
Chicken Soup for the Soul II. Large platters of just-picked California fruits, full baskets of hot buttery scones and muffins, and fresh juice complete the buffet. Outside the tall breakfast room windows, graceful white egrets "people watch" each winter morning. We can arrange a private nature walk for you to learn more about the birds.
The village of Playa del Rey offers a variety of restaurants and shops and is just five minutes from Los Angeles International Airport, making the Inn the only airport-area hotel in Los Angeles walking distance to the beach. The new Getty Center is just 20 minutes north and can be seen from the Inn. But, with the beach so close, bicycles for a seaside ride, and a rose garden Jacuzzi for later, many never leave the Inn.
