History lovers delight in this charming three-story Queen Anne, built by an Oregon Trail pioneer family, which features historic wallpapers and original woodwork throughout. This National Register Victorian is Oregon's oldest student rooming house. Interesting stories of college life from the turn-of-the-century forward are displayed throughout Howell House.
Our rooms are named to reflect those who once lived here. The Housemother's Suite, Seniors' Guest Suite, Juniors' Guest Room and Alumni's Parlor are all filled with antiques and stories of college life from the past. Queen, Double, and a Twin bed are available as well as private or shared bath with clawfoot tubs and showers.
As you absorb the elegance of a house of yesteryear, you may wish to enjoy our luxurious covered spa, unwind in the enchanting gazebo, or stroll through the fragrant rose garden.
Mornings offer an elegant breakfast served on antique china in the formal dining room. Belgian waffles, Fancy French Toasts, or Pacific Shrimp & cheddar omelettes may be on the menu. We also cater to allergies and special diets.
The owners collect vintage fashions and automobiles. The hostess is also a professional pianist who enjoys playing for guests.
