Carriage Corner is bed and breakfast as it was originally meant to be in Lancaster County--comfortable, friendly, serving delicious food, and affordable. The hosts, Gordon and Gwen, have a lovely daughter who is an equestrian, and a friendly golden retriever who enjoyes greeting and leading the stroll up the brick walkway.
Intercourse is a bustling Village from yesteryear with Amish buggies converging. The phone booth at Zimmerman's food store is a favorite photo spot as "The Witness" movie had the melting ice cream cone fight scene filmed here. Locally crafted furniture, crafts, quilts, pottery, tin and decoy shops, and art galleries as well as fine and family-farm restaurants fill the town. Kitchen Kettle lures all visitors to its unique shops and local multi-media presentations share the information which is helpful to understand our culture. On a bicycle or road tour through the countryside, one can experience plain people who work tirelessly with horse and plow, or needle and thread. One guest described it as being, "right in the middle of Amish country with carriages rolling by, Amish boys on scooters, and girls in bonnets playing games."
The sister villages of Strasburg and Bird in Hand and farmlands between encompass the heart of this historic culture. Gordon and Gwen desire to share their discovery and love for this unique area with visitors all year round and are ready to assist those who want to embark on an Amish-farmland venture.
