Merrywood is located on five acres in the woods providing a quiet and private surrounding. The architecture of the house is Colonial Revival. The interior has an interesting mix of period antiques, oriental carpets and original artwork. Guests have use of a large living room (with fireplace), porch, dining room and small library and are encouraged to stroll the grounds and surrounding trails.
The Inn has four large guest rooms; two of which are decorated with American Antiques. The third is a two room suite fashioned in with European antiques and the fourth is a suite with a spa done in an oriental fashion. Each room has either king or queen size bed, private bath, color cable TV, VCR, telephone and is air conditioned.,p> A full breakfast is offered from an unrestricted menu and served by candlelight often on hand made linen, using antique English porcelain or China, sterling or silver plated flatware and turn of the century cut stemware. No two breakfast settings are ever alike. Afternoon tea can be served with finger sandwiches and sweets.
Overnight guests celebrating a special occasion (wedding, birthday or anniversary) will find a surprise in their room upon return from dinner.
