Built in 1896 by Pilot Mountain's own Dr. Flippin, the inn features a wraparound porch shaded by century old trees with lots of rocking chairs for relaxing. Inside you'll enjoy beautiful Country Victorian decor with heart pine floors, 10 foot ceilings, sumptiously decorated parlors and even an office area with fax machines for business travelers. Spacious air conditioned suites feature large comfortable beds, tall old-fashioned windows, elegant chandeliers and private baths-each uniqely appointed with its own special touches of quilts, fine linens, antiques and collectibiles.
Mornings begin with a delicious gourmet breakfast served on a generous handmade dining table under a crystal chandelier. After breakfast you can relax in two elegant parlors or rock awhile on the front porch. Afternoons are celebrated with high tea time.
Visitors may wish to spend the day treasure hunting in the quaint antique and gift shops in and around town, hiking around the summit of Pilot Mountain, swimming and hiking at Hanging Rock State Park, visiting Horne Creek Living Historical Farm or taking a canoe trip down the nearby Dan River.
