Inspired by a Gothic Revival carriage house built as part of the estate of the founder of Manitou Springs, Blue Skies Inn was built from the ground up by the innkeeper herself who got a contractor's license for the project. Each three-room suite has been painted and decorated as an individual art project. "Starlight" is one of several celestial-themed rooms, complete with mirrored "time windows" in the decoratively tiled giant bathroom. The innkeepers are always happy to deliver breakfast to your door if you'd like to hang out in the sunny sitting room of your suite. An unusual event is "Alien Invasion Weekend" which becomes a scavenger hunt for homemade spaceships in the surrounding area. Extra credit is given for actually capturing an alien.
