Augustus T. Zevely Inn in Winston-Salem, NC, is the only lodging within historic Old Salem. The Inn's construction of brick-laid-in-common-bond, brick center and side wall core, and balanced façade, is an example of the Moravian buildings constructed during the mid-19th-century Salem. Surrounded by trees and period garden, the Inn is located in the heart of the historic district, near Salem College. Eleven guestrooms and one suite have private baths and are individually decorated reflecting the home's rich Moravian history. Each room is furnished with authentic Salem reproductions and offers a TV, phone, and individually controlled heating and air conditioning. Relax in the parlor with woodburning fireplace, authentic wall sconces and chandeliers, and original wood floors. The formal dining room is an ideal area for weddings or special occasions. Sit on the covered porch shaded by the Magnolia tree while enjoying complimentary wine and cheese. A typical full breakfast on weekends includes Moravian specialties such as rolls, breads, sugar cake, and muffins accenting hot entrees and fresh fruit.
