Bucksville House, The, Kintnersville, Pennsylvania
The Bucksville House has been featured in six national magazines. This 1795 Bucks County registered landmark offers five guestrooms, all with queen beds and private baths. A hot breakfast is served hearthside in the dining room during cooler months or the screened gazebo in warm weather. All rooms contain period antiques. Guests may help themselves to homemade wine from grapes grown on the premises.
While strolling outside, guests can pause on the brick courtyard to observe the award-winning gardens. The landscape includes perennial garden, herb garden, water garden with cascading falls, grape arbor and large catfish-stocked pond featuring an observation bridge.
The Bucksville House includes a colorful past of over 100 years as a stagecoach stop between Philadelphia and Easton, PA. It was also a speakeasy during prohibition. Lodging and meals were provided to weary travelers. Many local residents remember time spent in the tavern rooms.
Throughout the house, guests can enjoy the handcrafted furniture and original oil paintings created by the owner. Extensive collections of quilts, linens, redware, stoneware, wooden ware and yellow ware are also on display.
Friendly spirits in residence have been seen by visitors and documented by outside sources.
