Fifty-seven acres of Sodus Bay waterfront were purchased in 1887 to develop the resort that became known as “Bonniecastle”. Within a short time a hotel and four summer homes were constructed. Guests would travel to “Bonniecastle” by horse and carriage or by steamboat from Sodus Point. during the 1890’s and the early 1900’s “Bonniecastle” was a well known flourishing resort. Our home and guest house are two of the original four homes that are pictured on several post cards of that era. Bonnie Castle continues to retain its “turn-of-the-century” flavor today. Bonnie Castle has been our home for 35 years while we raised our children. Guest rooms bear the name of the child who last resided in that room.. Accommodations overlooking the eater are available in both the main house and our guest house.
