This large country home in a picturesque setting with expansive lawns and flower gardens sits along a quiet rural road near Skaneateles, eastern gateway to the Finger Lakes. Awake in the morning to the sound of birds singing and view wildlife from your bedroom window. Sit by the flower garden under the sycamore trees, relax on the porch swing, or wander on hiking trails through acres of woodlands with meandering brooks.
These same trails are also groomed for cross-country skiing in the winter. Your hosts, Marge and Bob, actively manage the hardwood and conifer forests on their property for wildlife, recreation, and timber products. Guests enjoy a spacious family room with wood burning stove, grand piano, TV, VCR, stereo and reading library. Fox Ridge Farm offers three bedrooms, one with private bath. Rooms are individually decorated with handmade quilts, floral wallpaper and some have a four-poster bed.
Start your morning with a full country breakfast served in a large country kitchen with its stone fireplace and a cozy fire in winter. Specialties such as baked apple French toast, asparagus and cheese omelets, quiches are served along with fresh fruit, homemade muffins, and breads accompanied by lots of freshly ground coffee and herbal tea. Special dietary needs are gladly accommodated when notice is given.
