Hawaii Affordable Artist Sanctuary & Creative Community: Kulana
Kulana: an inexpensive ($15 - $40/night/person plus tax) sanctuary for artists to visit and...write a book? paint? practice nature photography? snorkel with sea turtles? start/deepen a spiritual practice? philosophize with likeminded folk? rest and rejuvenate?...and an inexpensive place to live ($450/month including electricity. Those wishing to become residents at Kulana spend a minimum of six weeks as a visitor here first so they and we can assess the "fit".)
Simple, country-quirky cabins and rooms on volcanic rainforest land, along with a fully equipped community space of: kitchen, library, bathrooms to share. Each visitor and resident helps in the care of Kulana on a weekly basis. See the What To Know & Bring section of our website.
We are diverse racially, by age, sexual orientation, food choice, spiritual preference, etc. We are a: No Smoking, No Alcohol, No Drugs, No Drama space...and the co-creation of a harmonious atmosphere is required!
