The restaurant at Les Remparts has built a reputation for fine food at reasonable prices. We use wherever possible locally produced organic produce offering traditional French cuisine as well as introducing clients to a variety of other influences.

We take food very seriously at Les Remparts and make everything from our delicious ice creams to the jams and marmalade served each morning with our freshly baked croissants.

Our customers have enjoyed a range of dishes in the restaurant and often wish to recreate the same at home. With this in mind we have added a number of recipes on to our website. We are continually coming up with ideas and will make these available on the website.

The love affair between the French and their bicycles is no secret, and the Gironde was seemingly made for leisurely exploration on two wheels. Take the time to appreciate what makes the region so special – from the stone dovecotes which adorn many a Maison Maitre to the old-fashioned market towns along the Dordogne. Enjoying France is of course also all about taste. Choose to pause for lunch at a country restaurant, or let us put a picnic together for you. Call in at vineyards for wine-tasting discoveries; or other culinary delights; end your day with a dinner of delicious regional cuisine at the hotel. France truly is made for our kind of cycling!

Our cycling holidays are aimed at those who would like to spend a relaxing time with gentle exercise. Whilst staying at Les Remparts enjoying the warmth and relaxation of the hotel, take time to go cycling along the quiet lanes and byways stopping at a local Chateau to explore their wonderful wines, and see how they are made. The Chateaux we work closely with all speak excellent English so as to maximise your experience. Personalised tastings and a chance to buy at the Chateau prices enable you to make the most of your visits. For your convenience we then arrange for your purchases to be returned to the hotel for you.

We want whenever possible to offer our clients a choice of local and regional wines. With the aid of guides like the famous Dussert-Gerber Guide des vins de France, and the equally famous Guide Hachette des vins, and the suggestions of our esteemed clients, we have put together a list that you will find on our website.

We have selected not simply some fine wines, but also those growers who offer our clients a warm welcome and a chance to taste and purchase the wines that they may have first encountered in our restaurant.
