Sage Country Inn, Burns, Oregon
Sage Country Inn, situated between the mountains and Oregon's spacious high desert, can be the beginning of your outdoor experience. Whether your travel takes you north, south, east or west, the diversity of our land is as varied as the seasons.
Explore the unique beauty of the Steens Mountain while hiking its many trails. Wonder in awe at the bighorn sheep making its way over rugged cliffs or enjoy the fall colors of mountain aspens whispering high in a brilliance of blue sky. Always be on the lookout for the Kiger Mustang Herd.
Bring along your binoculars and cameras to observe the vast array of birds swimming along the marshes of the Malheur Wildlife Refuge or feeding among the cattle on our county's ranch lands.
Travel north to the beautiful Strawberry Mountains and explore the wild wilderness.
Sage Country Inn was built in 1907 reflecting Georgian-Colonial influence with its porch pillars and dentill molding. A gabled red tin-shingled roof is adorned with sunburst motifs. The house is nestled among trees of cottonwood, pine, spruce, pear and apple. Quail are generally seen among the spruce or scampering under the lilacs.
