Orange Hill B&B, Charles City, Virginia
Orange Hill B&B is owned and operated by Mark and Kay Russo. This fully restored late Victorian farmhouse was built by Roland Orange, and was a poultry farm until 1960 when Mr. Orange died. At its peak the farm housed 2000 White Leghorn chickens. The feed was grown on the property.
Although completely renovated, Orange Hill still captures the charm of days gone by. The house and several of the outbuildings remain as a testimonial to early craftsmanship. Many of the original antiques are still in the house. This quiet country setting offers a soothing escape from busy city life. The late afternoon provides magnificent sunsets, a look at wild turkeys, deer and countless varieties of birds. The night sky is spectacular for stargazing.
