Johnnycake Flats, a traditional bed and breakfast, set in an unspoiled valley, offers guests a quiet retreat from the pressures of metropolitan life. Built circa 1800, it has been carefully restored to preserve its historical designation. It is furnished with period antiques and decorated with quilts, stenciling and collectibles. Exposed beams show off the craftmanship of the original builders. Johnnycake Flats once served as a stagecoach stop for weary travelers.
Guests are invited to enjoy 16 acres of perennial gardens, frog ponds, forest and rural scenery. Spectacular foliage and frequent wildlife sightings abound in the adjacent mountains and valley. Artistic and photographic opportunities always seems to present themselves.
Conveniently located in central Vermont, guests can choose any number of activities, all within an hour's drive. At the end of a busy day, guests are welcomed back to enjoy the back porch with a glass of lemonade or a mug of spiced cider by the fire.
